How to Volunteer

We have many volunteer opportunities.  Because we must have a responsible adult (18 or over) in the House at all times, there are many times when we depend on volunteers to help in this area.  These volunteers will be asked to commit at least 2 hours at a time and we regularly schedule hours so that you will know what times and days you are needed.  Some people volunteer one night a month, some can be at the House in the daytime, or early morning or evening shifts; once a week, once a day; all are welcome to join us.  To protect the safety and confidentiality of our guests, screening and training of all House volunteers is conducted on a regular basis.

We encourage families, churches and organizations to volunteer to help our guests find a peaceful, comforting place to stay while their children are receiving medical care.

The Ronald McDonald House, Missoula Operating Council has several standing comittees on which we include volunteers with specific interests.  The Grassroots Committee plans and facilitates fund raising and educational events throughout the year. Their focus is events to which no invitation is needed and in which all are encouraged to participate.  The Events Committee  focuses on 2 or 3 “by invitation only” events which help to raise the operating exspenses of the House.  The Volunteer Committee recruits volunteers for the House, Grassroots and events committees and helps to facilitate the staffing of the House and events.

Many people and businesses have contacted us asking if they may do a fund raining event for us.  In order to use the Ronald McDonald House, Missoula name in promotion of your fundraiser, we ask that you contact us ahead of time so that we may approve your project.  We would love to have you volunteer to help us!  Please contact us and we will give you all the details.  Volunteer coordinator Lynn Baker- 541-7646, [email protected]
